The term Ska was ruined for all-time by such biters as 311 and that chick and those guys. What they produced bears little similarity to what original ska was and is.

So, I don't use the term Ska because most people now think, "Oh, like Gwen Stefani!?".

Uh, no.;)

Be in no doubt; ska originated in Jamaica. Anything else is just a feeble white approximation.

Exponents such as Prince Buster, Rico Rodriguez and Ernest Ranglin are names I would associate with ska. Gwen who ?

Even Toots Hibbert was part of the ska explosion, he then went on to pioneer rock-steady and was first person to use the word "reggae".

Like motown house band The Funk Brothers, Rodriguez, Ranglin and most of the ska session players were from a jazz background.

What have third rate white imitations got to do with the price of eggs ;)
